Ethics and Education

As employees of an educational institution, Coral Springs Christian Academy is held to a higher standard by parents, students, colleagues, and members of the public.  We support and endorse a strict policy of respect toward students and expect employees to act at all times as adult role models.  In addition, students typically respond better to faculty and administrators and evidence greater levels of respect when appropriate expectations are established right from the beginning of the relationship.  Therefore, we should ensure that we do not engage in any interaction or communication that may reflect even the appearance of impropriety or make students feel uncomfortable in our presence.  If we are not sure whether a particular comment or action may be appropriate, it is far better to avoid the behavior than risk negative consequences.

Coral Springs Christian Academy agrees to comply with the State of Florida Ethics in Education Act (EEA) and Florida Statute s.1006.061 regarding identifying and reporting professional misconduct by an instructional personnel member or school administrator.  We acknowledge that it is our obligation to understand these rules and regulations as outlined in the following Florida Statues to include but not limited to: s1006.061; 1012.33; 1012.795; 1012.796 and 1012.01.

We further understand and accept the State of Florida educator guidelines for ethics and professional conduct as outlined in the following state rules to include but not limited to: State Board of Education Rule 6B-1.001 (Code of Ethics) and State Board of Education Rule 6B-1.006 (Principles of Professional Conduct).
