Exciting Changes Taking Place as the Spring Football Game Approaches
As the school year winds to an end, the 2010 football season is just beginning. There are many changes being put into place that should make it an exciting season to be a Crusader fan. CSCA graduates George LePorte (Head Coach), Matt Van Praag (Offensive Coordinator), Jonathan Escobar (Line Coach), and Kyle Enser (Linebackers) will be joined by Bryan Englert (Associate Head Coach), Chris LePorte (Defensive Coordinator), Paul Boutin (Special Teams), and Danny Petito (Middle School Head Coach) to help bring the Crusader football program to the top of the football world in competitive South Florida. The offense will be sporting a new look after switching to the powerful Double-Wing formation in the spring. On the other side of the ball, Coach Chris will be looking to bring a bit of an edge that helped Sheridan Hills win the District title two years ago. Much work has been put in so far in the spring season by a solid group of athletes, and we will look to get bigger, faster, and stronger in the summer offseason. Former Crusader football star, Mike Hancock, has been helping with the guys this spring during his training to become the first ever CSCA pro athlete. We will be playing our first ever home, night game this spring. It will take place on Saturday, May 22, at 6:30PM. Lights are being brought in for the historic occasion. Spring Football Is Right Around The Corner!
Dear Crusader Family,
I hope this e-mail finds you and your family in good health as we finish up the school year. For those of you who I have not had the pleasure of meeting, allow me to introduce myself. My name is George LePorte, and I will be taking over the Head Football Coach position for Crusader football in the 2010 season. I am a graduate of CSCA (2004), and have been coaching at the school for five years. As you may, or may not know, spring football is fast approaching. My coaching staff and I, have been working hard in the past months to prepare for the upcoming season, and are extremely excited about the future of our football program. As we begin a new chapter in Crusader football history, my staff and I are encouraging any student at CSCA that has an interest in playing football to try out for next year's team. We understand that the program has had a few down years, so we are inviting you, the parents of our student athletes, to come see how things are going to be changing in the next few years. On Monday, April 26, the Crusader football coaching staff will have a parent information meeting at 6:30PM, in the cafeteria. We will be discussing the upcoming season, and important dates and information that will be helpful for anyone participating in football next year. There will also be a meeting for students who wish to come out for the football team on Monday during lunch. Monday, April 26: Football Parent Meeting - 6:30PM - Cafeteria
Monday, May 3: Spring Football Practice Begins - 3:00PM - In the Gym
Saturday, May 22: Spring Football Game vs St. John Neumann 3:00PM (HOME GAME at CSCA on Ken Holz Field) - Please come out for a fun day of football action and support your Crusader football team as they kick off the 2010 season with their Spring football game. There will be a barbecue beginning at half time, and continuing through the end of the game.
