This kid worked as hard as anyone I have ever coached and now he is going to be a playing catcher for the University of South Carolina in the SEC. CSCA gets a little press in this article as well. Crusader Baseball Wins Districts!!
The Crusader baseball team came from behind with a dramatic 5-run 7th inning to defeat Calvary Christian 10-9 in the 2A District Championship game Friday afternoon. In a game that saw the lead change back and forth a number of times, the Crusaders matched Calvary's 5 run outburst in the 6th inning with a 5 run outburst of their own in the top of the 7th to go ahead 10-8. The Crusaders held on to win 10-9 in a tense bottom of the 7th inning that saw Calvary get to within 1 run with a couple runners on base before Nay Seldomridge shut the door for good preserving the win, earning the Crusaders it's 2nd District baseball championship. The Crusaders now move onto Regionals and will host Kings Academy at home on Tuesday afternoon May 4th at 4:00pm. Congratulations to the Crusader baseball team, and Coach Cleveland and his staff for an outstanding win. Best of luck in Regionals!
